A clear, supported process for joining the Running Eagles — backed by both athletic and academic scholarship opportunities, and full FAFSA guidance from our Financial Aid Office.
LIFE University is committed to making your rugby and academic journey accessible through a range of scholarship opportunities tailored to women's rugby players. Whether you're joining our Premier Club Team or D1 College Team, financial support is available to help you achieve your goals.
As a premier women's rugby program in the U.S., LIFE University offers athletic scholarships for both the D1 College Team and Premier Club Team. These scholarships can cover tuition, accommodation, and other expenses — reducing the financial burden of attending university.
Exceptional players, like our alumna Alex "Spiff" Sedrick (Paris 2024 Olympics), have benefited from these opportunities to launch their careers.
LIFE University values academic excellence and offers need-based and merit-based academic scholarships to student-athletes. These can be combined with athletic scholarships to maximise financial support — making it more affordable to pursue degrees in fields like chiropractic, exercise physiology, or business.
Maintaining a strong academic record (minimum 3.2 GPA) enhances your eligibility for these scholarships and ensures full team eligibility for competition.
The application process for LIFE University's women's rugby program and scholarships is designed to identify talented, dedicated players ready to excel both on the field and in the classroom. Follow these steps to get started:
Create a comprehensive rugby resume highlighting your playing history, position, key stats (tries scored, tackles made), notable tournaments, and leadership roles. Include a highlight video showcasing your skills — these materials are critical for demonstrating your potential for athletic scholarships.
Academic performance is key to securing both athletic and academic scholarships. Aim for a competitive GPA (3.2 or higher recommended). SAT and ACT are not required for LIFE University.
Reach out to our women's rugby coaches directly. Email your rugby resume, highlight video, academic transcripts, and a personalised message explaining your passion for joining LIFE's program. Regular follow-ups and virtual meetings demonstrate commitment.
Join one of our Women's Rugby Academy Assessment Days, held annually to evaluate prospective players. Showcase your skills, meet our coaches, and tour our world-class facilities in Marietta. International players can arrange virtual assessments if unable to attend in person.
Submit your application to LIFE University through the admissions portal, including all required academic documents. Indicate your interest in women's rugby and scholarships during the application process. Our admissions team will guide you on combining athletic and academic scholarships.
Especially for international students — services like NCSA College Recruiting or Keystone Sports connect athletes with coaches and provide guidance on building a professional recruiting profile. Start this process early to maximise your chances of securing a scholarship.
Financial barriers should not stand in the way of your rugby and academic aspirations. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a critical step for student-athletes to access federal financial aid — which can complement athletic and academic scholarships to make your education more affordable.
Most students at LIFE University utilise financial aid to fund at least part of their education, and our Financial Aid Office is here to guide you every step of the way.
Available to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need. Up to $7,395 (2025–26 academic year) — does not need to be repaid. Eligible students can receive Pell Grants for summer sessions if enrolled at least half-time, supporting year-round training.
Subsidised Loans for undergraduates with financial need (no interest while in school) and Unsubsidised Loans available to all students. Annual limits range from $5,500 to $12,500 for undergraduates depending on year and dependency status.
Eligible students can work part-time on campus, earning funds to help cover educational expenses. Positions are flexible — designed to fit around your rugby and academic schedule — and awarded based on financial need.
Completing the FAFSA also makes you eligible for Georgia state financial aid programs and LIFE University's institutional grants, which can further reduce costs.
The best (and fastest) way to communicate with Financial Aid is to email ASKFA@life.edu. They typically respond the same day, within 24 business hours.
